Paddy's First Birthday in St Lucia - March 2024

Thank you to our beautiful St Lucia community for joining us for our community event celebrating Paddington’s birthday. Together, we raised over $200 for Hummingbird house – Queensland’s only children’s hospice providing specialised palliative care services to babies and children with life limiting conditions. We had a wonderful morning filled with face painting, pup cakes and pawsome fun in the dog play area. Paddington and Eddie we’re certainly exhausted after such a fun day!

Kings in Pink - October 2023

We were thrilled to sponsor and attend “Kings in Pink”, a local event raising funds for breast cancer research at the University of Queensland in St Lucia. The event was held on Saturday 14th October at Kings College. It was wonderful to see so many humans and animals dressed in pink, raising money for such an important cause.

Open Day Wrap Up – August 2023

On August 26 th we hosted the community open day of Vets in the Village, St Lucia’s newest Vet Clinic. Thank you so much to our community for celebrating with us. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring our new clinic, taking part in activities, and meeting our fantastic team. Thank you to Happy Tails Rescue bringing along gorgeous puppies and kittens, and most of all thank you to our lovely pets for being on your best behaviour. All pet family portraits have been uploaded to our Facebook page. Some of the most pleasing feedback we received was that the facility felt more like a “home” than a vet clinic, and the top-class quality of our fit out and equipment. We invested significant time to plan and create a home away from home, when you and your pets need it most.

Flynn's Walk

On the 16th July, Vets in the Village participated in its first community event – Flynn’s Walk. Flynn’s Walk raises awareness for veterinary professionals mental health. Did you know, Veterinarians have almost four times the suicide rate of the Australian population. This equates to a veterinarian taking their own life on average every 12 weeks in Australia.

Vets in the Village aims to create an environment where veterinarians and their support staff thrive and love coming to work. This in turn delivers better service for you and your furry family.

On the day we were joined by 11  friends, family, community members and pets, and walked from New Farm Park to Felons Brewery. It was a great event raising awareness of an extremely important issue, and we can’t wait to attend next year.

Stay tuned for our next community event!
